Your Eyes

So, Savannah in her quest for scholarships created a video she titled, "Your Eyes." The theme she had to follow was, Heritage or Families. She had the idea brewing in her mind for about a year and we finally helped her finish it last December. She needed all of the family---minus Shelby and Curtis and little Smith. Late one night following a basketball game of Annabelle's when we were all home we helped her create her masterpiece. She told us what to wear, she did the makeup hair of everyone. She gathered the props and got the ok from Jonsi (songwriter) to use his song in her video. It took many hours of blood, sweat and tears but the end result is unbelievable!!!! We love it! She is a finalist for the Walker Rising Star Scholarship. The highest award being a $5000 scholarship. But all the finalist have already won, everyone gets some amount of a scholarship. They range from $1,000 to $5,000. She will be presented at Ruth Eckerd Hall on May 24th for the final judging. It is quite an honor and I am so thrilled at what she has done. This kind of editing and piecing is quite difficult. I wanted to share! Hope you enjoy!!!!

Here we go....

Well, I am have been wanting to blog for a little while now. But I am giving it a go today. I hope that this will be a good way for me to journal and keep a better history of our crazy wonderful life we live!

Just took Lilly out to walk the dog and she commented on our grass that is growing flowers! I told her that those were weeds and she yelled, "I love those weeds!" I love her! To have her non stop energy and 200% determination would be wonderful!
I took a drive with her yesterday at Disney World! She was great! I hope it is not a reflection of future experiences driving! I did have a great time though!

Yesterday we went to Disney World for the first time in about 7 years. We live within 2 hours and have chosen to not go more than that. We are not huge theme park goers! We had a great time and the girls enjoyed it, but it was too hot for February and way to crowded! I think it is great and all but I really can't imagine why sooooo many people like to go and sweat and spend lots of money and stand in long lines for a couple of minutes of silly pleasure. I will admit that the Celebration Parade with the characters makes me tear up a little, just because it does...But waiting for 1 hour to have a fairy sign a 5 year olds autograph book seems wrong!

We had a great time as a family and it was the first time that I have gone to a theme park and my youngest was 5! It makes it a bit easier, I must say!
